In most cases, powdered activated carbon used in batch-wise processes. In the decolorization process, for example, powdered activated carbon is mixed with the liquid, and removed from the liquid by filtration. On the other hand, granular and pelletized activate carbon is applied in continuous processes. In the wastewater treatment, for example, the gas is passed through granular or pelletized activate carbon in the vessel.
