As for the activated carbon products of “Shirasagi” brand, the manufacturing technology was introduced from Germany in 1936, and the production and sales were started by Takeda Chemical Industries, Ltd. in 1937.

In 1994,”Life-Environment Products Division” (the predecessor of Japan EnviroChemicals, Ltd.) was established with a concept of “aiming at creation of better life environment”. As a result of R&D over many years, the activated carbon products of Takeda have received high confidence and evaluation of the high technical level, quality, and performance. The world’s first success in industrialization of 5A-type molecular sieve activated carbon has made the activated carbon products of Takeda the top brand in the Japanese industry.

In 2003, Japan EnviroChemicals, Ltd. was established as a fully-owned subsidiary of Takeda. Then, the “Shirasagi” made a new start from a Takeda‘s brand to a Japan EnviroChemicals’ brand.

In 2005, for further business expansion, all the stocks were transferred from Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited to Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. and Osaka Gas Chemicals Co. Ltd, and Japan EnviroChemicals became a subsidiary of Osaka Gas Group.
